ASCENDR Opportunity Advising focuses on strengthening how HSRU institutions connect undergraduate and graduate students with Department of War (DoW)-related internships, fellowships, research experiences, workforce development programs, and other opportunities.
Through collaboration across HSRU institutions and with DoW partners, this work will explore effective advising practices, institutional resources, and partnership-based pathways that help students identify, prepare for, and pursue opportunities aligned with their academic and professional goals.

Bring Your Perspective to the ASCENDᴿ Opportunity Advising Think Lab

ASCENDᴿ is seeking individuals with experience advising students, supporting competitive applications, or building pathways with Department of War organizations to participate in the Opportunity Advising Think Lab.
Participants will share practices and challenges to help ASCENDᴿ better understand the current opportunity advising landscape and identify strategies for expanding and sustaining student access to research experiences, internships, fellowships, workforce development programs, and other opportunities across the Alliance. Travel support is available.
