HSRU Announces New Leadership Officers and Executive Committee Members
El Paso, Texas - The Alliance of Hispanic Serving Research Universities (HSRU) is pleased to begin the new year by welcoming its newly elected officers and Executive Committee members. Together, they will help guide the Alliance’s continued collaboration and shared work across its member institutions.
Taylor Eighmy, president of The University of Texas at San Antonio, will serve as chair of the HSRU Alliance through 2028. Joshua Brumberg, president of the CUNY Graduate Center, will serve as chair-elect through 2028.
HSRU also extends its sincere appreciation to Cynthia Larive, chancellor of the University of California, Santa Cruz, for her leadership and service as chair from 2024-2026.
Joining the HSRU Executive Committee are Kenneth Christensen of the University of Colorado Denver, Adela de la Torre of San Diego State University, and Juan Sánchez Muñoz of the University of California, Merced. Each will serve through 2029, bringing valuable institutional perspectives and leadership experience to the Alliance.
The Alliance also thanks outgoing Executive Committee members Teik Lim of the New Jersey Institute of Technology and Garnett S. Stokes of The University of New Mexico for their service and contributions to HSRU.
In the year ahead, HSRU will continue advancing its doctoral, postdoctoral, and faculty research and development programs. The Alliance also looks forward to pursuing major federal funding opportunities that draw upon the collective strengths of its member institutions to strengthen graduate pathways and support the U.S. innovation enterprise.
