At the 2025 Excelencia in Education Fall Convening in Washington, DC, national leaders gathered to celebrate programs and institutions that are intentionally serving Latino (and all) students. HSRU universities were among those honored with recognition in several of Excelencia’s signature categories:
- Examples of Excelencia (2025 awardee): University of Illinois Chicago – Graduate Program category
- Seal of Excelencia (newly certified): University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV)
- Seal of Excelencia (recertified): University of California, Santa Cruz and The University of Texas at Arlington
- Intentionally Thriving Institutions (new category): Arizona State University, The University of Texas at El Paso, University of Arizona, and Florida International University
In addition, several other HSRU member universities currently hold the Seal of Excelencia, including: San Diego State University, The University of Texas at San Antonio, University of California Merced, University of California Riverside, University of Central Florida, and University of Illinois Chicago.
These achievements highlight the deep commitment of our Alliance members to pairing research excellence with intentional student success strategies.
